Many baby foods contain onion or garlic powder for flavor, even in meat varieties. Concentrated powders more toxic than fresh. Commonly used to tempt sick cats but very dangerous.
Anemia develops over 1-5 days with repeated exposure
Hemolytic anemia, weakness, pale gums, vomiting, rapid breathing
Check ingredients for onion/garlic powder immediately. Stop feeding if present. Call vet.
If onion/garlic powder present, watch for lethargy, pale gums, rapid breathing
Contact vet if onion/garlic powder ingredients consumed. May need bloodwork.
