Popped balloon pieces or deflated balloons cause suffocation by covering airways or choking by lodging in throat. Latex conforms to airway blocking breathing completely. Ingested pieces cause GI blockage.

If choking, try to remove piece carefully. CPR if not breathing. Rush to emergency vet.
Difficulty breathing, blue gums, pawing at mouth, collapse, vomiting, loss of appetite
Immediate emergency if choking or suffocation. Call vet if pieces swallowed.
