Contains paeonol and other toxins that cause vomiting and diarrhea. The showy flowers and buds are especially attractive.
Symptoms within 2-6 hours
Vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy
Remove plant material. Offer water. Monitor for GI symptoms.
Severe or prolonged vomiting, diarrhea lasting more than 12 hours, or lethargy
Call vet if symptoms are severe or persistent. May need anti-nausea medication.
